Mia Santarelli
Mia Santarelli is currently an Art History graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She served as a gallery intern in Florence, Italy at Galleria Immaginaria and hopes to continue to develop her career in international art. Mia strongly believes in the power of language and has a passion for exploring different cultures and their histories through visual art. When she was 14 years old, Mia realized she possessed a strong enthusiasm to learn Italian. Her love for this beautiful language grew rapidly and blossomed into what would become her major at the University of Kansas. A pivotal moment in Mia's professional journey was interviewing Italian photographer Piergiorgio Branzi. After their meeting he said, "we must always swim against the current." These words of wisdom continue to fuel Mia's desire to challenge herself to use her voice to say something meaningful about the languages, cultures, histories and people she encounters. Beginning an adventure with an open mind creates endless opportunities to learn about the world. So, pack your bags, grab your passport and prepare to embark on an incredible journey learning about the beauty of travel!
