This TEFL review was recorded by ITTT graduate Surangi. Surangi took the TEFL course with ITTT because she wanted to become an English teacher. She found the course introduced her to aspects of teaching that she was unaware of such as interaction between the teacher and students, lesson planning and discipline. The course also gave her the chance to refresh her knowledge of English grammar. This unit taught me the difference between a good teacher and a bad teacher and showed me how to engage students equally and in a way that will motivate them to want keep learning. I feel like I have a good understanding of what it takes to be a good teacher because the unit clearly states what is and what is not a characteristic of a good professional teacher.This unit is extremely helpful for a new teacher. As a new teacher you always feel that you need to script exactly what will happen during a lesson. Unfortunately this is mostly not the case as unforeseen things can pop up during a lesson. A lesson plan gives you the security of being prepared but must also allow you to deviate when needed if an activity fails.
