This is the hardest part of English to teach, and I think possibly the most frustrating for students to learn. I personally was interested in learning things like the international phonemic alphabet and how exactly sounds are made, but I don't think they're practical to teach except at the highest level. Perhaps they'll help inform simpler explanations, though.This topic is a little more difficult of a topic for me because I have never planned any kind of lesson. But I do appreciate the overview given in this lesson so I could analyze what goes into making a lesson plan effective. I need to look deeper into this subject as I feel that having a thorough understanding of this topic will make me into a better teacher.
