The unit explains the best ways of teaching receptive skills to student. Both reading and listening are equally important for students to acquire more usable language. Choosing appropriate, widely interesting texts and/or listening material is key to motivate students. Multiple examples of teaching reading and listening skills are presented through out the unit.I thought this unit was a very fun and interesting. I reviewed the intonation, rise -fall and fall-rise; the connected speech, which I think is important for students to know they are to understand how natives talk in daily basis. The phonemic alphabet seen in dictionaries are actually very helpful to learn how each different and similar words can be pronounced.
