In-class Course Materials
Trainees will be given detailed handbooks for the following areas of the course:
- Teaching Skills
- Language Awareness
- Phonetics
- Classroom Management
These high quality materials are the basis for the input sessions and will provide the trainees with valuable reference resources. Although the center provides course handbooks and materials for the course you will need two A4 folders which should be organised as follows:
- The course log
- Teaching Practice – for each lesson, full lesson plan, materials used, self assessment and the tutors assessment
- Unknown Language Journal – for each lesson file a report
- Lesson Observation Journal – for each lesson file a report
These logs form a record of the course and will be checked during moderation. Your own notes file During input sessions you will receive numerous handouts and may want to take your own notes as well. We suggest dividing the file under the following headings:
- Timetable
- Classroom management
- Teaching skills
- Grammar
- Phonology
