What TEFL course should I do?
During the past 10 years, more and more teachers have opted to gain their TEFL qualifications online. This was further accelerated due to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent restrictions placed on international travel and business practices. However, onsite TEFL training and hybrid type courses that combine online and in-class training are still viable options in many areas.

Online TEFL training
The most commonly taken ESL teaching course is a 120-hour online TEFL certification course. Originally taught across 4 weeks in a classroom, the course content has been adapted into a popular online course by highly experienced TEFL trainers at ITTT. Access to our online courses is possible at any time of the night or day, from any location with an internet connection. Participants can work through the course units at whatever speed suits their plans and lifestyle.
A 120-hour TEFL course provides a comprehensive introduction to teaching English as a foreign language. A wide variety of useful skills and everyday teaching techniques are gained during the length of the course. Upon completion of the training, graduates will be able to deliver engaging lessons in a traditional classroom setting, in one-to-one environments, and via online platforms.
Onsite TEFL training
The 120-hour TEFL course is also available as an in-class course with the addition of observed teaching practice at many locations internationally. Face to face instruction is provided by professional TEFL trainers at each location. In-class courses are often considered to produce more competent and confident teachers through a mix of hands-on instruction and regular teaching practice. It is advisable to attend an in-class course if you have the available time and funds to do so.
Combined TEFL courses
Combined courses are another way to gain an ESL teaching qualification. Our popular combined TEFL course is made up of a 120-hour online TEFL course, which is then followed by 8 to 10 days of in-class instruction and teaching practice with local ESL students at one of our many international training centers.
Online TEFL course bundles
For anyone wishing to teach English online, we have a 170-hour TEFL package that is made up of a 120-hour online TEFL course and a 50-hour certificate of teaching English online (CTEO). The CTEO course provides an insight into the systems, salaries and requirements of many popular online school franchises, as well as the types of students that they teach and the times of the day that they operate.
Higher qualifications
Gaining higher qualifications and more skills is possible through a 220-hour TEFL Master Package. Priced only fractionally higher than the standard 120-hour course, the 220-hour package includes specialized courses and university accredited qualifications in teaching business English and teaching young learners, alongside the usual 120-hour TEFL certification. For added peace of mind, the package comes with tutor support and you will also receive an additional 50-hour specialized course for free.
Diploma in TESOL
TESOL diploma courses are best suited to trainees who want to work towards higher paid positions and positions of greater authority and responsibility. Unlike the certificate level courses that focus on everyday teaching skills, the diploma course delves further into student assessment, learning theories, material design, and curriculum construction. Skills that are particularly important for ESL management roles.
The Diploma in TESOL course can be purchased alongside a 120-hour TEFL course or as part of the 550-hour Expert package. The 550-hour Expert Package includes the 3 online courses from the 220-hour package, plus the certificate in teaching English online (CTEO) and the Diploma in TESOL. With this option you also get the chance to complete some observed teaching practice and a live one-on-one job consultancy session with a TEFL job expert.
Each of ITTT?s online courses results in university accredited qualifications through the PCIE in France. The courses can be completed at a speed that suits each individual. Up to a maximum of 6 months can be taken to complete any course within a package. Due to this flexibility, online courses are a popular option for people working or studying full-time.
