Located in the region with the same name, the city of Madrid is, in addition to the capital of the region, the administrative capital of Spain. Madrid houses the official residences of the Head of State and the President of the Government, the ministerial and governmental headquarters, the Congress of Deputies, the Senate and the Supreme and Constitutional Courts.

As the country's nerve center, it is also the most populated city in Spain and one of the five most inhabited cities in the European Union, along with Paris and London. It doesn't matter which season of the year you visit Madrid, because from spring to winter you will always find things to do, both outdoors and indoors. From its most visited art galleries (Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofía and Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza) and numerous museums, to its fantastic parks such as El Retiro or El Capricho and its vivid nightlife.

Its gastronomy also stands out, with local dishes and numerous restaurants and bars where you can enjoy it, as well as the creations of international chefs with Michelin Stars.

As for transport in Madrid, the city has an international airport, Madrid-Barajas Adofo Suarez, and a good infrastructure of roads, railways, and buses that connect with nearby towns and the rest of Spain.

To move around within the city, in addition to walking, you can choose between different means of public transport: metro, bus, taxi, suburban train or the public bicycle rental service (BiciMad).

Accommodation

If you want to take advantage of our recommended four-week housing, you need to be fully paid on the TEFL course. The optional housing offered through the TEFL Course + 4 week optional housing package is a very good offer as most housing agencies in Madrid will charge first and last month security deposits, so many students in the past were already out of pocket for anywhere between 1300-1500 euro even before they moved in.

The Madrid training centre mainly offers flat shares from ex-students and Spanish people attending the free English classes given during the course. All flat shares on offer are in up market and safe areas, are easy commutes to the school and are close to stores, supermarkets, restaurants, banks, metro and bus stops.

Your housing fee of 625 euro is an all-inclusive fee.

Your four-week paid housing starts on the day you move in, so it is recommended that you book flights to arrive in Madrid at the latest the weekend before the course starts so in that way you have housing coverage for the full duration of the four-week TEFL course. Check out time is normally on the Saturday or Sunday after the last Friday of the course.

You don’t have to use our accommodation. We can help you find alternative housing arrangements like hostels, guest houses, homestay families or even an AirBnB. We will advise you on what areas are the best value for money, safe and has easy access to transportation, shops, restaurants.

• What are the payment options?

  Students can pay for their courses using the following payment methods: Credit card (VISA, Mastercard), PayPal, bank transfer or Western Union. If you want to pay with a bank transfer, we will email you the bank details.
  

• How does the Madrid Trinity CertTESOL application process work?

  You apply through the ITTT website. As soon as we receive your application, we will review it and pass you on to the staff in Madrid who will send you instructions with the necessary steps to complete your application. To be accepted on the course, you must pass both the written and spoken tests.
  After you have passed both tests, you will receive an email confirming your acceptance on the course. To guarantee your space, you must then pay the deposit. If you need to speak to a student advisor about accommodation, student visas (if you are a non-EU national), or other administrative and banking details, we will schedule a Whatsapp call.
  One calendar month before you start, you must pay the final payment. Once you are fully paid, the Madrid team will send you details on how to access the "Student Moderation Zone". This is where you will upload your work throughout the course. After the course, you will use the "Student Moderation Zone" to type in your CV/resume so we can send it to the many language schools waiting to interview you for their available jobs.

• When do you run the Trinity TEFL courses in Madrid?

  The Madrid training center runs 10 TEFL courses throughout the year. The first course starts in January and the last one in November.
  

• What is the Trinity course timetable?

  The Trinity CertTESOL and TEFL certificate course runs full-time for 4 weeks. It comprises 150 hours of study: pre-course work, classroom training, lesson planning, 20 hours of teaching practice time, 10 written assignments, peer teaching practice, feedback, and employment opportunities.
  The course schedule is: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm - with one hour for lunch. Thursday and Friday from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm, followed by 1 hour for lunch and then from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm will be the teaching practice classes where trainee teachers teach non-English-speaking students with levels ranging from A1/A2 (Beginner) – C1 (Advanced).
  Teaching practice is observed, critiqued, marked and uploaded to your student management zone for the external moderator to check. You will deliver lessons that you created to non-native English speakers. You will get feedback so that you know how you are progressing and help to prepare for the moment when you go solo in your teaching career.
  The center has scheduled a total of 20 hours teaching practice time into the course. 8 hours of experienced trainer demonstration classes, 6 hours of peer group practice sessions (rehearsals) and 6 hours teaching 1-hour classes to groups of non-native English speakers.

  The profile of students who enroll in TEFL courses in Madrid is very diverse and multicultural, but the most common profile is one of a university graduate woman about 27 years old. Most of our students are from the USA, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. We do accept non-native speakers of English from other countries who are highly proficient in the English language. Age isn't an obstacle either. We have had students between the ages of 21 – 68 years young enrolled each year in Madrid TEFL courses.

  Madrid is a city with a dry climate and little rainfall, which is concentrated during October, November, December, and April. In general, summers (June to August) are hot and winters cold (December to February), so what you put in your suitcase will depend on the time of year you visit Madrid: light clothing and natural fabrics to combat heat and warm clothing for the coldest months.
  Don't forget to include comfortable shoes and informal clothes to walk around the city and some smart casual and elegant clothes and shoes to enjoy Madrid's nightlife.
  Don't worry if you forget something at home. There are many department stores in Madrid where you can get clothing and footwear at different prices during your stay in the city.
